John Allen Announces Resignation
LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven University head football coach John Allen has announced his resignation today from the University and his head coaching position.
Allen took over the program in March 2011. After a winless season in the fall of 2011, the Bald Eagles capped the 2012 season by winning the season-finale over Cheyney, snapping a 52-game losing streak in the process. Lock Haven went 3-8 in 2012 and 2-9 this past season.
In all, Allen led the Bald Eagles to a 6-37 overall record in four seasons. In those four seasons, Allen guided 11 players to All-Conference honors, including four players after the 2013 season. A university release contained the announcement and said a search committee is being assembled and a national search for LHU’s next head football coach will begin immediately.
