Flying J at Lamar I-80 Exit receives electric charging station grant
HARRISBURG, PA – A Clinton County travel center is among the recipients in the latest round of governmental assistance for new electric vehicle charging stations.
PennDOT recently announced the first round of conditional awards for National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding. Fifty-seven projects in 38 counties were selected to expand access to and reliability of electric vehicle charging in Pennsylvania. The 57 projects conditionally awarded amount to a total federal investment of $35.8 million for the program’s first round.
The list includes $812,990 to Pilot Travel Centers LLC for its Flying J Travel Center at the Lamar Exit of Interstate 80.
There is one Centre County recipient on the list: TA Operating LLC, $1.1 million for a charging station at the TravelCenters of America near Milesburg (I-80, Exit 158)
Projects will begin after successful National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) completion and legal agreement execution. Some projects may begin in late 2023.
