Harger Utility Charities boosts Heroes and Horses
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Harger Utility Charities, Inc. recently held its 12th annual sporting clays event for this year’s recipient, Heroes and Horses. On Monday the organization presented a check for $25,101 to Vicky Hancock from Heroes and Horses.
Dave Harger, from the presenting Harger Utility Charities, said typically, Harger Utility Charities, Inc. gives money directly to a Veteran, “however this year given the needs of Heroes and Horses, we felt it was fitting to help with multiple veterans getting the time with these incredible people.”
As this being HUC’s 12th year, the organization has donated over $300,000 to local Veterans and now another Veteran group. Harger said, “We are already in the process of selecting next year’s recipient which we typically announce by February of the following year.”
Harger Utility Charities is also spearheading the Veterans Park renewal, already underway on Water Street in Lock Haven, with a May 2024 projected dedication timeframe. HUC also takes donations as well for that endeavor and people can donate anytime for any amount.
Harger told The Record, “As with any organization we cannot do this without the hard work of our volunteers, and the unwavering commitment of our sponsors.”
