Central Mountain High School Marching Band Prepares for Exciting Season

MILL HALL – As the school year kicks off, the Central Mountain Wildcat Marching Band is gearing up for an exciting season. With 32 talented musicians, the band is ready to showcase their skills and entertain audiences with their incredible performances.

This year, the band program has witnessed a surge in participation. Band Director Ashley Crust expressed her enthusiasm for the increased number of students involved in the band, referring to this year’s increase as a “boom in our numbers.”

The marching band’s show theme for this season is focused on none other than the beloved cartoon character, SpongeBob SquarePants. The crowd can expect various well-known songs from the popular kid’s television show, including the theme song, “Ripped Pants,” “C.A.M.P.F.I.R.E. S.O.N.G. Song,” “Sweet Victory,” “Best Day Ever,” and “F.U.N.” Crust assures both SpongeBob fans and those unfamiliar with the cartoon that the performance will be entertaining for everyone. “If you’re a SpongeBob fan, you’ll recognize most, if not all, of the songs. If you’re not already a SpongeBob fan, you’ll still get a kick out of it!” she said.

The marching band is poised to perform their field show at all of the Central Mountain Varsity Football Team’s home games and the season opener at Mifflin County High School this Friday, August 25th.

When asked about any other special events the marching band will be performing in, Crust told The Record, “Our band will perform at the Tussey Mountain Marching Show on September 30 and the Southern Tioga/Wellsboro Tournament of Bands marching band competition on October 7.  Of course, you’ll see and hear us at the local parades for Homecoming, Flaming Foliage, Halloween, and the winter holidays, too!”
