FARWELL, PA- It’s been a tough couple of games for head coach Bill Probst’s Bucktail baseball squad. The Bucks fell in their last outing 21-4 at Mid Penn power Muncy and they knew coming into their contest with prominent District 6 foe West Branch that things wouldn’t be an easy task. The Warriors went home with a 20-3 Thursday win.

The Warriors jumped on Bucktail early in the top of the first inning 4-0, but the Bucks would battle back. Bucktail would score a pair of runs in their half of the first inning to narrow the gap to 4-2.

West Branch would then open up their lead in the top of the second by plating 7 runs and taking an 11-2 lead.
The Bucks would score a lone run in the bottom of the third before the Warriors would explode for a nine-run fourth inning to end the game by way of the 15-run mercy rule by a count of 20-3.

Kyler Friese once again led the Bucks on offense by connecting on a triple. Gary Whipp and Ethan Kalafut each added a hit for Bucktail (0-3).

The Bucks will next be in action on Wednesday when they host Sugar Valley Rural Charter School in a Mid Penn Conference clash. Start time for the meeting with the Phoenix is set for 4:30pm.
