Lady Wildcat volleyball edged by West Branch
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Monday night was another nail-bitter for the Central Mountain volleyball team and the Lady Wildcats battled to the very last point before falling to undefeated West Branch, three sets to two.
West Branch took set one, 25-15; the Lady ‘Cats set two, 25-21; the visitors set three, 25-22; CM tying things at two sets-each with a 25-13 win in the fourth set. West Branch won the final set, 19-17, to go home with the hard-earned win.
Central Mountain was led on the evening in kills by Kyleigh McDermit with 18. Emilee Heverly chipped in with 17 kills. Assists were distributed by Tori Marquardt with 24 and Sophia Hardy with 20. Dig leaders were Makenna Stratts with 13 and Emilee Heverly with 8.
Coach Chip McCann’s team is on the road for the rest of the week: Wednesday at Shamokin, Saturday at Mifflin County.
