Heritage Homecoming set for Central Mountain High School Friday
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The second annual Heritage Homecoming within the Keystone Central School District is set for round one this Friday at Central Mountain High School, to be followed at Bucktail High School on Friday, Oct. 14.
The Heritage Homecomings, presented by the Keystone Central Foundation Alumni Association, are designed to connect alumni from the district’s no longer existing high schools with current students and schools within the district.
Special events before this Friday’s Shikellamy at Central Mountain football game will include tailgating at the softball field adjacent to Malinak Stadium, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Graduates of Bald Eagle-Nittany, Lock Haven and Sugar Valley High Schools are invited to participate, in addition to Central Mountain High. The family-friendly event is free for alumni association members, including admission to the 7 p.m. football game; the cost is $10 to
non-alumni.
The evening will also encourage alumni and alumni cheerleaders to line the team tunnel to cheer the current football team. Additionally, the “matriarch majorettes” will perform at halftime.
Keystone Central Foundation executive director Melissa Bottorf said, “The Keystone Central Foundation Alumni & Friends Association continues to find ways our alumni from all of the schools can reconnect. Our members feel passionate about honoring the traditions of all of our schools and Heritage Homecoming is a great way to celebrate our past and current students.”
She said last year the participation from fans far exceeded expectations. “It was amazing to see so many letterman jackets, jerseys and school colors in the stadium. Having the alumni cheerleaders and alumni majorettes, the Matriarchs, perform was especially fun.”
