CM volleyball takes D-6 semifinal over Williamsport
LOCK HAVEN, PA – They say it’s tough to beat the same team three times in a season but the Central Mountain volleyball team did just that on Monday, winning its District 6 Class 4A semifinal contest over Williamsport by a 3-0 score. The match, played at Lock Haven University’s Thomas Field House, was the third victory this season for the Lady Wildcats over their downriver foe.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-11 and 25-17. The victory followed a 3-0 win over the Lady Millionaires on Sept. 9 and a 3-1 win over Williamsport on Oct. 26.
The win moves the Lady Wildcats to the District 6 final on Wednesday at 7 p.m., the opponent top-seed State College (11-2), the match at the Tyrone High School gym. Central Mountain is now 12-5 on the season; Williamsport finished at 13-8, three of its losses to the Lady ‘Cats.
It’s believed Wednesday’s match will Central Mountain’s first visit to the District 6 finals.
