Defenders deny Wildcat boys’ soccer, 3-2
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – An early lead by visiting Warrior Run proved to be just a bit too much to overcome for the Central Mountain boys’ soccer team on Senior Day on Saturday.
Down 2-0 at the half, coach Bill Hook’s team came out in the second half looking to come back. Two goals, one by senior Clayton Foster and one by sophomore Asher Talbot tied the game at 2-2. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, a late Warrior Run goal put the visitors ahead for good, leaving with a hard-earned 3-2 win.
The outcome was the second straight 3-2 loss for Central Mountain, now 1-6. There have been four one-goal losses in a tough-luck season to date.
The Wildcats will be back in action at neighboring Jersey Shore on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., visit Altoona for a 7:30 p.m. contest Thursday and finish the week Saturday at 11 a.m. at Philipsburg-Osceola.
Central Mountain seniors were honored at Saturday’s contest for their commitment to the program.
