Jakob Lee Haines – Obituary

Jakob Lee Haines, 21, of Beech Creek passed away February 26, 2021.

He was born January 16, 2000 in Lock Haven, the son of Jason Lee Haines of Beech Creek and Patricia (Olshefskie) Kreitz and husband, Joseph L. of Mill Hall.

Growing up, Jakob enjoyed playing little league baseball for Babe Ruth and Legion Ball. In high school, he played football for Central Mountain, where he graduated in 2018.

Jakob spent every weekend taking mountain rides. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jakob is survived by one brother, Joshua L. Kreitz of Mill Hall; two sisters, Rebekka M. (Tommy) Dinh of Franklin, and Hasylnn E. Haines of Beech Creek; two nieces, Isabella M. and Trinity R. Dinh; paternal grandparents, Barry L. and Sheila R. Haines of Beech Creek; maternal grandparents, Carl D. and Merry Ann Olshefskie of Renovo; two aunts, Betsy (Andy) Roberts and Melissa (Mike) Adams; one uncle, Owen (Missy) Olshefskie; one step-uncle, Jason (Tina) Kreitz; two step-aunts, Kristina (Tom) Engel, and Stephanie Kreitz; numerous cousins; and girlfriend, Kylea Yerger and her daughter, Layla. Jakob was preceded in death by paternal great-grandmother, Betty Young; and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Mary Ziegler.

A viewing for friends and family will be from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main Street, in Beech Creek. A service will directly follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Alan Eckenroad officiating. Helt Funeral Chapel in Mill Hall has charge of arrangements.

Burial will be at a later date at Hayes-Fearon Cemetery in Beech Creek.
