Part #3 of a three part Letter To The Editor :
Police vs Jacob Blake
Another African-American was shot by police while being apprehended. Once again the police were called to investigate a possible crime in progress. And once again, a tragedy ensued that could have been avoided. In this case it involved Jacob Blake of Kenosha, WI. And like the George Floyd case in Minneapolis, MI,, it should never have unfolded as it did. Like Floyd, had Mr. Blake COMPLIED, rather than resisting when approached by the police, he wouldn’t be in the hospital at present. But he too, resisted. He failed to comply and cooperate with the police. He ‘scuffled’ with the officers (wrestled! actually!). He was tasered by two of the officers at the scene. To no effect! That, in itself is a pretty good indication that he had something pretty powerful in his system. And it wasn’t simply adrenaline. A 50,000 volt jolt will put the biggest individual to their knees. Blake absorbed two separate jolts and walked away, unaffected. Blake then walked around the front of his girlfriend’s car, opened the driver-side door to the vehicle and indicated he was about to retrieve something from the floor inside. The officer that tugged on his shirt from behind had a fraction of a second to decide whether or not his life was in danger. When Mr. Jacobs reached for something in the car, the officer reacted. In that instant, hesitation may have been the difference as to whether the officer went home to his family at the end of his shift or is put in a body-bag. The wrong reaction should not have had to have been made by the officer. The officer (according to the video) did everything he was taught to do. At that moment though, an error in judgment isn’t an option. But if the error is made, it should be made in the officer’s favor. In that fraction of a second when the officer’s life hangs in the balance, he doesn’t have precious time to evaluate his options. He reacts as taught. If the perpetrator indicates he intends to take your life, you incapacitate him by any and ALL means necessary. Even with a lethal outcome, if necessary. You go home – the perpetrator goes to the morgue… or in this case, to the hospital. By the way, a knife was found on the floor of the driver-side of Blake’s car. Also, the officers knew Mr. Blake. The law had a warrant out for him. He is accused of sexual assault and various other crimes. Hopefully, Mr. Blake recovers from the paralysis in the lower half of his body, but the shooting should never have happened. Like Mr. Floyd, Mr. Blake should not have the ‘Ambulance-Chaser Lawyer’, Benjamin Crump, settle a multi-million dollar law-suit for the Blake family. By the way, wrongful-death liability law suits are Mr. Crump’s forte. He represented the Trayvon Martin parents, the (Gentle Giant) Michael Brown parents, the Ahmaud Arbery family, the Breonna Taylor family, among others. He’s good at what he does and makes a pretty good living at it. But the money won’t bring back Mr. Floyd, nor enable Mr. Blake to walk again.
The news media should broadcast- from the mountain tops- when the police confront you, SIMPLY-COMPLY! When an officer of the law says -‘Show Me Your Hands – Show Your Hands!! Don’t reach for anything but the air, period! If innocent of any wrong doing, you ‘walk If it’s questionable that you may be involved in a crime- you are arrested.. If arrested- you go to jail and due-process kicks-in.. If you resist when detained for questioning- the consequences aren’t good.. You, are responsible for your action. It’s been said: As You Sow – So Shall You Reap. Respect Begets Respect… Contrary to what the news media, BLM, and even the Democrat party, espouses, the police are NOT your enemy. Without them, lawlessness would reign supreme.
President Trump Greatly Supports Law Enforcement. The men and women in blue are America’s finest.
Are American-Socialist Democrats’ Supportive of Law Enforcement ?…. Biden Certainly ISN’T! Defunding The Police and the ‘redirecting’ of Police allotted funds, are one in the same. Joe. Biden can paint-over his statement about ‘redirecting’, as opposed to ‘defunding’ the police (if elected), until the proverbial cows come home. He said it and it’s recorded. I’m anxious to hear how he does the ‘Washington-Two-Step’ around his remarks… Democrats and he will pay heavily for that stand…. And the Biden/Harris Ticket, will be a ticket alright -a first-class air-line ticket to Cuba in November (and take Bernie Sanders w/ you guys’)
