Lady Wildcat Tennis Sweeps Williamsport off the Court, 5-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Another day, anther win for the Central Mountain girls’ tennis team. This time it was a 5-0 whitewash of Williamsport.
The Lady’Cats left no doubt in the match with everyone winning in straight sets for CM.
Carolina Carpenetti got the wheels in motion for Central Mountain with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Williamsport’s Mary Hillman, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Then at No. 2 singles, Olivia Anastos defeated, Lady Millionaire, Breanna Chicas, 6-0, 6-0. At No.3 singles, Kati Kwiatek took down Billtown’s Allyson McCann. 6-1, 6-0.
In No. 1 doubles Caitlyn Dale and Ella Talbot teamed up for a 6-2, 6-3 over Williamsport’s Emma Campbell and Mairead Ferry 6-2, 6-3. Claire Long and Bree Weaver wrapped up the sweep by defeating the Lady Millionaire duo of Abby Robertson and Shay Robinson, 6-1, 6-1.
The win improves Central Mountain to 9-1 on the season and will next travel to Selinsgrove, the only team to edge the Lady ‘Cats this season for a rematch on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.
