Moyer, Kiser go 1-2 in 5K; Haven strong at PSAC’s
MANSFIELD – The dynamic distance-running duo of Laurel Moyer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and Cadie Kiser (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) went 1-2 in the 5,000-meter run to highlight a tremendous effort by the Lock Haven University women’s outdoor track & field team at the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships.
As a team, the LHU women placed eighth overall.
Today (Saturday, May 11) marked the third and final day at the 2019 conference championship meet, and Moyer and Kiser continued their individual dominance with their brilliant 1-2 punch in today’s 5K.
Moyer crossed the finish line first with a time of 17:45.75 and Kiser was second with a time of 17:48.08. The 1-2 Haven finish provided Lock Haven with 18 points.
Moyer and Kiser combined for 38 points in individual events over the three days. Moyer won the 10,000-meter run Thursday and Kiser won the 3,000-meter steeplechase yesterday.
Kayla Brathwaite (Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago/Bishop Anstey East) stepped up and finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a season-best and personal-best time of 58.34.
Karina Long (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) was seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 36-10.50.
Billie Jo Bollinger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.64.
The Bald Eagles took eighth in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 50.82.
