Debra F. Smith Announces for Keystone Central School Board
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP – Debra F. Smith has announced she is running for another term as Keystone Central School Board member representing Region IV (Pine Creek II, Dunnstable and Wayne Township). She has cross-filed on the Republican and Democratic ballots in the May 21 primary election.
A life-long resident of Clinton County, Smith attended and taught in Clinton County schools.
She resides with her husband, Jim Smith, at 1389 W. Cardinal Drive. Both she and Jim, a retired Jersey Shore Area social studies teacher, graduated from Lock Haven High School and Lock Haven University.
Mr. Smith remains a small business owner in the county.
They have two sons, Jason and Josh, who were educated in Clinton County public schools. Debra and Jim have two granddaughters, Piper and Kinsley, and a grand dog, Brody.
Smith said she has been passionate about education from the time she first sat in Mrs. Swinehart’s first grade classroom in the newly opened McGhee School. She said she has a strong desire to serve students and their families.
Saying she is not a politician, but an educator, she said she wishes to provide the best opportunities to support student success while understanding the financial constraints of hardworking property owners.
