Michele Whitney Announces for Commissioner
Michele Whitney has announced she will be a candidate for Clinton County Commissioner. Her candidacy announcement came on Thursday:
“LOCK HAVEN – Lifelong Clinton County Pennsylvania resident and Republican, Michele Whitney has announced her intent to run for the office of Clinton County Commissioner.
“Michele’s noteworthy public service includes committing countless hours volunteering in support of community and military affiliated organizations, most notably, Honor Flight Network which is a non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans.
“Before supporting her husband in the military, Michele attended the IUP Municipal Police Academy and interned as a Police Officer in South Williamsport. She was then employed by Clinton County as Corrections Officer.
“Michele is a 1986 graduate of L.H.H.S. Michele possesses a solid 25-year long background in technology and leadership to include working for Microsoft as a Technical Support Engineer Team Manager. In addition to her certification as a webmaster from Penn State, Michele holds several IT industry level certifications. Additionally, Michele has offered her competences as an IT and small business consultant with volunteer organizations and small businesses alike, empowering their success. Intent on creating affirmative transformation within Clinton County, Michele expects to utilize many of the leadership traits, business insights, and work ethics she has shaped to economically grow Clinton County.
“Michele is the daughter of the late Raymond Whitney, former LHU Professor Emeritus of Mathematics; and the late Elizabeth Whitney, former mathematics and computer science teacher at the former Sugar Valley High School in Loganton, PA.
“Michele is lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association and is an alum of the Leadership Institute in Arlington, Virginia. Michele is an active auxiliary member of the American Legion and is a lifetime member of the NRA.
“Michele resides in Woolrich with her husband, an Air Force retiree and consulting contractor, and her son who is currently pursuing his degree at Lock Haven University.
