Floruss Leads ‘Cats at Sectionals, Advances to D6 Round
ALTOONA – The Central Mountain golf team battled the to area schools in the PIAA District 6 Boys’ AAA Golf Sectional at Sinking Valley Country Club.
The recent wet weather made for tough playing conditions but the Wildcats battled well posting a team score of 350 placing behind State College with 321 and Altoona at 322.
Jason Floruss set the pace for the Wildcats with a round of 82 followed by: Logan Fisher, 87; Chase Confer, 88; Brady Williams, 93 and Zach Somers 97. Only the low 4 scores are tabulated for the team score. Gunner Redmond finished with a core of 107 participating as an individual.
Floruss made the cut with his eighth place overall finish to qualify to advance to the District 6 Championship on Monday Oct. 1, 2018. 10 a.m. at Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg
“The team would like to congratulate Logan Fisher on a great high school golf career,” said CM coach John Lodek of the lone senior on his record setting squad, “He had a great season. The team will miss him next year.”
