Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Potts Barr, 86, 133 4th St., Renovo died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at her residence. Born Dec. 14, 1929, in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Mary F. Russell Potts. On June 13, 1954, she married Elwood F. Barr who died May 18, 2008.

Libby was a 1947 graduate of the Renovo High School and a 1951 graduate of the Lock Haven Teachers College (now LHU). She worked at St. Joseph’s Catholic School as an elementary teacher prior to relocating to Levittown, PA with her husband. She retired from the Bristol Township School District after 35 years of service. Elwood and Libby moved to Pompano Beach, Fla., after their retirement and enjoyed golfing, riding bikes and swimming.

Eventually they returned to Renovo so that they could enjoy time with their children and grandchildren. Libby worked at Yesterday’s for twenty years at the front desk where she loved seeing people on Sunday mornings and welcoming the hunters during hunting season. She also loved playing the piano and sitting on the porch with her neighbor, Susie.  Libby was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of Court St. Veronica, C.D. of A # 111.

Libby had the most amazing sense of humor and was so kind to all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy M. Keiper, Renovo, and Judy A. Barr, Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Keiper, State College, Aileen (William) McGregor, Lock Haven, John and Matthew Keiper, both of Philadelphia, Sean Barr, Renovo, Aubrey (Eduin) Zavala, Spring Lake, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Gavin Getz and Brady and Cameron McGregor; and also by her dogs, Harley and Hank.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian V. Barr who died June 17, 2015; a brother, Dr. William J. Potts; and three sisters, Catherine A. O’Laughlin, Mary P. Miller and Sarah R. Dwyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo, with Rev. Donald Dusza officiating. Private interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hyner. Friends were received in the church one hour prior to services.
