John E. (Jack) Long, 79, of North Bend, PA died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his residence in Little Italee, North Bend surrounded by his family.  John was born September 13, 1936 in Renovo, PA.  He was the son of the late Charles B. and Rose V. Zollars Long.  He was a 1955 graduate of Renovo High School.  John was a mason by trade and a long standing member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 5-PA.

He enjoyed deer hunting, visiting with his friends at Socky’s and spending time with his grandchildren.  John’s sense of humor and laughter will be greatly missed by all.

John is survived by four sons:  Jack (Darlene) Long Jr., Randy (Lori) Long both of Hanover, PA, Timothy (Carol) Long of Berlin, MD, and Timothy (Patricia) Johnston of Surpise, AZ; one step-son Tom Riggle of North Bend; two step-daughters Tracy (Jeff) Embick and Brandy (Tim) Griffiths both of Renovo; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters – Alice Shaw of Sinnemahoning and Doris Mancini of Gettysburg; four brothers – Charles, George and Lester Long all of Maryland and Ronald Long of North Bend.  John was preceded in death by a daughter April Mae Pierson, a brother Robert B. Long and a sister Rose Ann Lookingbill.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life is planned for April 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 7th Street, Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating.  Refreshments will follow in the church basement.  Interment of ashes at North Bend Cemetery, North Bend.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine Street, Renovo, PA 17764.
