Selinsgrove Tops Central Mountain 27–3

MILL HALL – Central Mountain showed some bright spots on both sides of the ball Friday night, but Selinsgrove used a balanced attack to pull away with a 27–3 win.

The Seals struck first in the second quarter when Brett Rice broke free for a 15-yard touchdown run. Central Mountain answered back later in the quarter, as Mycah Carson drilled a 27-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 7–3. Just before halftime, Selinsgrove extended its lead when quarterback Rocco Amato connected with Jake Beddall on a 24-yard touchdown pass, sending the visitors into the break ahead 14–3.

The game stayed within reach until the fourth quarter. Rice added his second rushing score on a 14-yard run, and Owen Hoffman sealed things with a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown in the final minute.

Quarterback Kyle Everett was efficient through the air, completing 7 of 11 passes for 63 yards. Everett also added 36 rushing yards.

The Wildcats found some success on the ground, led by Dalton McDermott’s 86 yards on 21 carries, while Ricky Rohrbach chipped in 49 yards. Kole Corman and McDermott combined for 98 more yards on the ground.

In the passing game, Mason Maserati had a 26-yard reception, Rohrbach caught four passes for 29 yards, and Jacob Remold added an 8-yard catch. Defensively, Corman recorded a sack to highlight the unit’s effort.

Rice paced the Seals with 128 rushing yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns. Amato went 4-for-11 through the air for 56 yards and a score. Beddall hauled in two passes for 31 yards, including his touchdown grab.

The win improved Selinsgrove to 1-3 on the season, while Central Mountain fell to 0-4.
