Wildcats Fall to Bloomsburg, Show Fight in Home Opener

MILL HALL – Central Mountain came up short in its home opener Friday night, falling 35-0 to visiting Bloomsburg, but the Wildcats showed offensive progress and several players stepped up in key roles.

Sophomore quarterback Kyle Everett led the offense, throwing for 75 yards on four completions and adding 8 yards rushing to finish with 83 total yards. Senior Dalton McDermott paced the ground game with 22 rushing yards and added 33 yards in total offense, while junior Kole Corman chipped in 12 rushing yards.

Through the air, senior Ricky Rohrbach provided the big-play spark with 44 receiving yards. Senior Mario Serafini added 6 yards receiving, and freshman Alex Johnson contributed with 8 passing yards.

As a team, Central Mountain totaled 125 yards of offense – 42 rushing, 83 passing against a fast and physical Bloomsburg defense.

Defensively, the Wildcats were tested by Bloomsburg’s explosive passing attack but held the Panthers to just over 100 rushing yards on 27 attempts, forcing them to rely heavily on big plays through the air.

Central Mountain now sits at 0-2 on the season and will look to regroup with another challenging matchup next week as they visit Williamsport.
