Obituary – Richard D. Hevner

Richard D. Hevner, 95, of Little Italee passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Eagle Ridge Personal Care Home, Mill Hall where he resided since January.

Born April 26, 1930 in Kane, PA a son of the late Philip and Maude (Crossley) Hevner.

He was married to the former Alice J. Redis who died in 2015.

Richard worked as a mechanic at International Paper retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and hiking.

Richard also was a marathon runner earlier in life. Before entering the Air Force, he assisted in building the Summerson Mountain School House. He served in the Air Force from 1947 -1950.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn R. (Denise) Hevner of South Renovo and Craig S. (Lisa) Hevner of Shintown and three daughters, Barbara J. (Charles) Newlen of Renovo, Terri L. Hevner of North Bend and Crystal L. DeLaurentis of Delaware Water Gap.

21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
One sister Ruby Prebble of North Bend.

Richard was preceded in death by a son Mark “Mick” Hevner in 2020 two brothers, Phil and Joe and a sister Shirley.

The family would like to thank Eagle Ridge Personal Care Home and UPMC Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

Maxwell Funeral Home Renovo has charge of the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
