Phoenix roll to second straight victory, 7-3 over Williamson

LOCK HAVEN- Taggart Park was once again the place to be for Sugar Valley’s streaking Phoenix baseball team, who rode the arm of Brody Swanger for their second win in as many games.
Swanger fanned 11 Warriors in 6 1/3 innings of work, as Sugar Valley built a 5-0 lead on their 2A team opponent and never looked back.
Williamson had a 3-run rally in the top of the third inning, but the Phoenix defense and Swanger shut down the Warriors for the remainder of the contest.
Sugar Valley added an insurance run in their half of the third and another in the fourth inning.
The Phoenix followed up their 12-2 clobbering of CMVT this past Thursday with a strong win and will be looking for their third straight win when they travel to Benton today.
Sugar Valley is now 2-5 on the season. Williamson dropped to 2-5 following the loss.
Briar Martin collected 2 hits to lead Sugar Valley. Layden Bryan added a double. Dakota Jodun and Lincoln Breon both added singles.
