Runners Gear Up for the 19th Annual Hyner View Trail Challenge

HYNER – This weekend marks the highly anticipated 19th Annual Hyner View Trail Challenge, attracting both experienced runners and newcomers eager to take on its rugged terrain. Participants will be greeted by a challenging 25K course that tests mental and physical stamina alike.

The trail features three significant climbs and three steep descents, with a total elevation gain of 4,000 feet. Runners can expect breathtaking vistas, scenic stream crossings, and exhilarating single-track paths throughout the course, making it a true adventure for nature lovers and trail enthusiasts.

For those tackling the 50K, the challenge intensifies. The extended course includes five major climbs and around 6,500 feet of vertical gain, with some great new course changes added this year. It’s a grueling but rewarding route that pushes endurance to the limit while offering stunning views and diverse trail conditions.

As the event approaches, it’s vital for local drivers to exercise caution in the vicinity of the Hyner Bridge. With runners navigating their way along Route 120, congestion is expected. Drivers are encouraged to be patient and attentive to ensure safety for both runners and motorists.

In preparation for race day, local churches will offer a pasta dinner for the participants on Friday, April 18, from 4–7 PM, just a short walk from the bib pickup location. Participants can enjoy a hearty meal of spaghetti and Rigatoni to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Whether you are cheering from the sidelines or hitting the trail, the Hyner View Trail Challenge promises an exciting experience filled with community spirit, and a unique connection to the amazing Pennsylvania landscape. Good luck to all participants, and enjoy the journey!
