MILL HALL-The Wildcat baseball machine kept on rolling Wednesday night at home against visiting Shikellamy. The Wildcats pounded out 7 hits and jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead just three innings into the contest. A 4-run first inning set the tempo early for the hometown Wildcats.
Single runs in the bottom of the second and third innings helped build the CM lead to 6-0.
A pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth gave starting Wildcat pitcher Dane Hanna the 8-0 lead. Hanna fanned 5 Braves in 4 innings of work. Bryce Brungard finished out the game for Central Mountain by throwing two scoreless innings and struck out 3.
Brungard got help in the bottom of the sixth with Central Mountain plating two runs to enforce the 10-run rule to help the Wildcats run their season mark to 6-0 on the season. Shikellamy fell to 1-5 on the season.
Malaky Moyd’s two singles led the CM offense. Nate Wian, Watt Probst and Blake Walker each had doubles, with Darius Shade and Blake Walker adding singles.
Central Mountain will next be in action on Friday, with weather permitting when they travel to Jersey Shore (4-1). The contest with the rival Bulldogs should be a big test for the Wildcats.
