Garrett Starr named PSAC West Baseball Pitcher of the Week

LOCK HAVEN (Tuesday, Feb. 25) – After a stellar pitching performance this past weekend, Lock Haven baseball’s Garrett Starr was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon.

Starr pitched game-one of the four game series against Glenville State and led the Bald Eagles to a thrilling 1-0 victory by tossing six-shutout innings.

Starr, who struck seven hitters, earned his second victory on the mound this season.

The Bald Eagles swept the doubleheader to improve to 6-0, marking their best start in program history.

Lock Haven, now 6-2 on the season, is ranked No. 10 in the National College Baseball Writing Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region top-10, the organization announced on Monday, Feb. 24.

Next up for The Haven:

The Bald Eagles return to West Virginia and take on Fairmont State in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday (Feb. 28).
