Friends of Renovo Library Receive $1,000 Donation

Friends of The Renovo Library received a generous donation in December in the amount of $1,000.00 from Lesa Knupp Eckert. The impactful donation from Eckert was so appreciated that the Friends welcomed her as a lifetime member for presenting the organization with such a large gift.

“We are so thankful to have gifts and donations like this to help enrich our programs at the Renovo Area Public Library” said Michelle Fantaskey. Fantaskey serves as the groups public relations person and also offers her teaching services to several programs at the Library.

“Over the past year we have had several programs that we were able to offer to the community because of generous donations, our organization was created to keep funding in the Renovo community and grow our Library programs” Fantaskey explained.

Some of the regular events at the Library are a Baby & Me and a Library & Learn program. They take place during the school year for families with children 0-5 years old who want to get out of the house a couple days a month and socialize and do activities.  The Library also recently started an “Adult Coloring” evening for teens and adults to come and relax through coloring.  Friends of the Renovo Library and the the Renovo Area Public Library have created a great Holiday program for the children as well over the past couple years.

“We look forward to so many more programs and events in the future at the library and this is possible only because of our members and generous people like Lesa. Donations, Fundraisers and Memberships support the programs and help keep our local library programs the best they can be” summed up Fantaskey.
