Three Recognized as “Republicans of the Year” During Lincoln Day Dinner

By Christopher Miller

FLEMINGTON – The Clinton County Republican Party held their Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, February 22 at the Red Eye Center in Flemington.

After the meal, Clinton County Republican Party Chairman Kurt Smith introduced Vicki Adams as Republican of the Year and presented her with a real silver, silver dollar.

“I am very honored and privileged to receive this award,” she began, “but it also serves as a reminder to the amazing volunteers I had the privilege to work with. In order to accomplish Republican goals, Donald J. Trump needed to be elected. Our volunteers gave 110% effort in working the election center, sending letters, handing out yard signs, and for having a smile for everyone entering our building. One volunteer that was with me everyday is John Wayne Myers, who was with me every step of the way. You are all a part of the puzzle.”

Bill Stankiewicz

Smith also recognized two other Co-Republicans of the Year for the county Republican Party, including Bill Stankiewicz and Clinton County Republican Party Treasurer Kevin Johnson.

“I give the honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because he inspired us all to vote with our conscience, responsibly and the way we needed to vote to bring our country out of the depths it had fallen into with the previous administration,” Bill said. “It is a privilege to get to know all of you. We can be good citizens, pay our taxes, but when we vote it is our personal right and responsibility as Republicans and citizens to have a positive response. The Lord will reward us and see our efforts.”

Kevin Johnson

Treasurer Kevin Johnson was recognized lastly, saying that the honor was “unexpected” and that he offered to teach anyone interested in becoming a treasurer for the Republican party, he would be willing to teach and show the tips and tricks behind the position.

The co-Republicans of the Year also received silver dollars.
