Strong third quarter helps Shore snap Lady Wildcats’ winning streak

MILL HALL- Central Mountain’s Lady Wildcats were in the midst of a hot streak. CM was on a three-game winning streak when Peyton Dincher and her 12-win Lady Bulldogs of Jersey Shore came to town for a PHAC battle.
Central Mountain showed strong intensity early in the contest and trailed 11-6 after one quarter of play. Head coach Scott Baker’s squad exploded in the second quarter with a 15-7 advantage and grabbed the surprising 21-18 lead at halftime.
Dincher and Caitlin Schall then took over in the third quarter. Mainly it was Schall and her 11 points. Jersey Shore lit up the nets for a 25-point third quarter. Central Mountain managed just 10 points in the frame.
Trailing 43-31, the Lady Wildcats gave one last effort at pulling the upset, but an 11-7 Shore advantage set the final at 54-38.
Lena Walker was the only Lady Wildcat to reach double figures with her 10 points. Taylor Doyle added 9 points and Ava Doyle chipped in 7 points in the loss.
Dincher scored a game-high 19 points and Schall racked up 17 points in the win for Jersey Shore (13-3)
Central Mountain (7-7)will next be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Midd-West.
