Wawa project progressing in Bald Eagle Township

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a very “business as usual” supervisors meeting at Bald Eagle Township Monday evening.
Kicking off the new year, the supervisors held a 14-minute meeting covering a small array of topics with more expected in the coming months.
Briefly discussed Monday evening was the engineer’s intent for the Mill Hall Wawa project to apply for a highway occupancy permit for their proposed location at the former Aungst and Creekside Restaurant in Mill Hall along Hogan Boulevard.
“The engineering company needs to have this letter signed so the firm can apply for highway permits, and they also inquired about getting bonding in place and to confirm that the board will accept a building bond for security for the project,” township solicitor Frank Miceli told the supervisors.
Also mentioned during the meeting was the winning bid for the sale of old air conditioning mini split systems. “It sold for $116 on Municibid and the buyer will be here on Thursday to pick them up,” secretary/treasurer Marissa Morgan told the supervisors.
Also briefly discussed and voted on was a quote to upgrade the computer and software for the township secretary’s office. A quote of $1,665.92 for a new computer, upgrades, peripherals, software, and full installation and maintenance contract was approved by the supervisors. The former computer is several years old and is in need of replacement.
