FB: T’iar Young earns Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mention
LOCK HAVEN – After a record-breaking season with the Lock Haven football team, T’ar Young was tabbed an Honorable Mention NCAA DII Don Hansen All-American, the organization announced on Friday (Dec. 20).
The Don Hansen All-America team is the final All-America team to be released for the 2023 season. The team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away in 2010. Hansen started and published the Don Hansen National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades and has selected Division II All-America teams since 1988.
The postseason honor is the third for Young, who was selected as to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division and Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-Super Region First Team.
One of the top playmakers in the country, Young secured the PSAC receiving triple crown after earning the top marks in receiving yards (1,146), receiving yards-per-game (104.2) and receiving touchdowns (11). The 11 TDs tied the all-time single season record for receiving touchdowns and the 1,146 yards are the second-most in school history for a single season.
Young went over 100-yards receiving in seven games and hauled in a touchdown in every game but three. He also caught two touchdowns in three different games.
