Bucktail drops Mid Penn opener at Muncy

MUNCY- For one quarter the Bucktail boys squad appeared to be amongst the Mid Penn elite. Their opponent, Muncy is the current defending West Division champs. The Bucks caught fire early and led 13-11 after the first quarter.
The Indians caught fire and outscored the Bucks 47-15 in the middle two quarters to finally pull away from the defending 1A District Champions.
Both teams netted 11 points each in the final quarter, but the home Indians had already taken command of the contest to remain undefeated with a 4-0 mark.
The Indians held Brody Pentz to just 9 points, despite grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds. Gary Whipp’s 11 points led the Bucks. Gavin Pick also hit double figures with 10 points.
Nate Rogers led Muncy with 18 points. Dominic Guardini (15), Kohen Meyer (10) and Stiles Eyer (10) also reached double figures for the Indians.
Bucktail dropped to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in MPC play. They will continue MPC play on the road Saturday with a trip to 3A South Williamsport (2-0)
