LHU Football edged out by ESU
EAST STROUDSBURG – For the second straight week, the Lock Haven football team got off to a fast start and quarterback Jackson Ostrowsky finished with 281 passing yards and four touchdowns, but in the end, an East Stroudsburg rally helped the host Warriors edge out the Bald Eagles, 38-35, in an exciting Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Week-8 clash.
Ostrowsky, the top quarterback in the PSAC, completed 17-of-36 passes with no interceptions in another remarkable individual performance.
Through eight games, Ostrowsky has 2,337 passing yards, the sixth-most in Lock Haven history for a single-season. His 19 passing TDs this season are the third-most ever in a single season at The Haven. He leads the PSAC in total passing yards, passing touchdowns and passing yards-per-game (292.1).
Behind an impressive start to the game, Lock Haven led 14-10 after the first quarter and the Bald Eagles extended their lead over ESU to 28-17 at halftime.
KJ Howard rushed for a touchdown on the first offensive play of the game, and T’iar Young, Corahn Alleyne, Chris Hicks and Nino Cinti all finished with TD-catches to fuel the offense.
Young finished with six catches for 127 yards.
Damir Green carried the ball 13 times for 89 yards.
Oscar Uduma, Rocco Daugherty and Kasir Henry led the way on defense.
Uduma finished with 11 tackles including 10 solo stops and one forced fumble. Daugherty had 10 tackles and one interception, while Henry chipped in with seven tackles.
Justin Anderson added one tackle-for-loss, which runs his career tackle-for-loss total to 30.5, the fourth-most in school history.
With the loss, Lock Haven moved to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in PSAC East play, while ESU improved to 7-1 (4-1 PSAC East).
The Bald Eagles now set their attention on a second straight road game. Lock Haven will return to action next week (Week-9) at West Chester. The Saturday, Nov. 2 PSAC East game at WCU is set for a 12 p.m. start.
