CM Boys Cross Country Team Shines at Hershey’s Foundation XC Invitational
HERSHEY-The Central Mountain boys cross country team put on an impressive performance at the 18th Foundation XC Invitational, held at the challenging course in Hershey. Competing against over 250 runners in the AAA varsity race, junior Damien Winner led the Wildcats, finishing in 62nd place with a course personal best time of 17:50.
Two other Wildcats achieved personal bests for the Hershey course, with Sam Wible clocking in at 18:50 and Riley Gonzales at 19:53, the latter setting a new overall personal record. Freshmen Latrell Walker, Shane Walker, and Xian Deems looked strong in their first time navigating the course, showing promise for the future of the team.
In the JV race, Jaxon Hardy (22:05), Cody Etters (22:12), and Rhys Swift (26:54) each posted personal bests on the challenging terrain, contributing to a solid showing for the Wildcats overall.
The team now looks ahead to their home meet on Tuesday, where they will host Shamokin, Bloomsburg, Montoursville, and West Branch. The meet will also mark senior night.
