Strong singles effort lifts Bucktail tennis to season opening win

LIBERTY-A sweep from their singles lineup would lead Bucktail’s tennis team to a 3-2 win at NP-Liberty on Wednesday afternoon.
Eva Sockman, Kendall Wagner and McKenna Bissman would all pick up straight set victories.
Sockman would down Annie Johns 6-2, 6-1. Wagner would cruise past Elyna Booth 6-0, 6-3, while Bissman took care of Elena Hazelton 6-1, 6-2.
The Lady Mounties swept both doubles matches. The tandem of freshman Carrie Ditty and junior Lola English would drop their debut doubles match to NPL’s Ellie Brian and Ciera Kieser 6-1, 6-2.
Burrows and Roslyn would defeat the Lady Bucks’ duo of Emma Gentzyel and Riley Salizzoni 6-3, 6-4.
Now 1-0, Bucktail will host Cowanesque Valley at 4pm on Thursday.
