Clinton County unemployment rate drops again

HARRISBURG, PA – Clinton County registered a 5.1% unemployment reading for November, the lowest number since the pandemic began in March 2020.

According to information released earlier this week by the state Department of Labor and Industry, Clinton County had a 6.0% mark in October. The November numbers show an estimated 900 people out of work, down 200 from October.

The county’s 5.1% unemployment rate ranked no. 38 out of the state’s 67 counties. Other November rates included Chester County at #1 with 3.1%, Centre County tied for 9th with 3.9% rate, and Lycoming County #55 at 5.7%. Philadelphia County garnered the highest unemployment reading at 6.8%.

In addition, Clinton County saw its initial and continued unemployment claim numbers go down slightly for the week ending Dec. 18.
