UPMC Moves Ahead with Presence in Lock Haven Area

LOCK HAVEN – UPMC’s major foray into the Lock Haven area is just about here.

Pittsburgh-based UPMC announced purchase of Lock Haven Hospital earlier this year. Local officials recently have been informed the hospital is to come under UPMC ownership as of tomorrow, Oct. 1. What today is the Lock Haven Hospital will be known in the future as UPMC Susquehanna Lock Haven.

And the recently purchased former Bald Eagle Court in Wayne Township is seeing renovations to one of its several buildings, the site ticketed to be the new home for Haven Medical Center on E. Church St. in Lock Haven. The new operation, local officials have been told, will be known as UPMC Outpatient Clinic. At the time of the purchase announcement in June, UPMC said having a convenient location with ample parking already in place allowed them to quickly reinvest to improve access, enhance care, and grow needed outpatient service for patients.

A UPMC spokesman said official word on the status and plans for the two sites will be coming soon.
