Lady Wildcat Tennis Shuts Out Shik, 5-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain picked up their third win of the week with a 5-0 sweep of Shikellamy that earned a 9-2 overall record and 9-1 in the PHAC.
AT No. 1 singles, Lady Wildcat, Jolee McCluskey shut-out Shik’s Delani Wolever, 6-0, 6-0. CM’s Katherine Strouse moved up to No. 2 singles to defeat Lady Brave, Rubie Natal, 6-1, 6-1. Central Mountain’s Natalie Brown stepped over from her normal duties at doubles to pick up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Shikellamy’s Ashley Strevig at No. 3 singles.
The winning effort continued in doubles action with CM;s Caitlyn Dale and Gianna Renzo taking down Heather Beveridge and Megan Moyer of the Lady Braves, 6-1, 6-2. Then at No 2. doubles Lady ‘Cats, Olivia Anastos and Carolina Carpenetti stepped in to defeat Shik’s Loren Herrold and Marillen Castle, 6-2, 6-1.
The week isn’t over for the Lady Wildcats … they will face their fourth opponent in as many days when they host District 6 rival, Mifflin County tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017.
