Will the real gifter come forward please …

Someone, who didn’t leave their identity, has left some exceptionally neat and interesting photographs of Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. John Harwood. The photos are of the interior of the church. Among the photos is a picture of a large choir group that included men, women and children and a priest. It is believed the photos were taken after 1910, but little else is known about them. Rev. Harwood would like to learn more about the photos and is hoping whoever left them will come forward. He can be reached at 923-0571. That’s the number for the rectory; please leave a message if no one answers.

Rumor Has It …

Western Clinton County Recreation Authority is soon to kick off a major capital improvement fund drive for a planned expansion project. Rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, but the talk is that the popular band Snug will appear at Yesterdays as one of the drive activities. Not sure when, but the band leader, Clinton County Commissioner Joel Long has volunteered the band’s services and Yesterday’s owner and recreation center board member Greg Lucabaugh offered the restaurant for the event.

You rock Aaron Kelley …

Congratulations Aaron Kelley. Young Farwell resident and Bucktail Area High School Senior Aaron Robert Kelley, 2013 BAHS DAR Good Citizen, is also the first place winner in the entire state of Pennsylvania for an essay he wrote and among the top candidates for the national award.

Monday evening at the Renovo Community Choir practice – Aaron is one a member of the choir – director Patty Lacy said Aaron composed his essay in two hours. She said he was given a subject to write about and two hours to do it. He was not told ahead of time what the subject would be. It is not an easy challenge and according to Helen Newlen the last person to attain a state level award was Sandy Krepps. If it’s the Sandy Krepps I know, she is a retired school teacher, so

DAR stands for Daughters of the Revolution and is an organization in which its members have proved that someone in their heritage has served in the Revolutionary War. DAR is dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American History and securing America’s future through better education. In the fall of 2013 Aaron was nominated by his teachers, along with six other seniors as someone who had the qualities necessary to be a DAR Good citizen. They were expected to have the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree.

Aaron is involved in school in athletics, choir, band, drama, academics and the community.

Are the robins here yet? …

Am I the only one who hasn’t seen a robin yet this year, or are they just waiting for winter to leave? Deb Proctor of Bellefonte told us in the beginning of February she had seen one then, she even checked with binoculars to make sure it was a robin. I’ve been watching in North Bend ever since, without success.

But, along with the entire group of women taking the Penn State Extension strong women class at Bucktail Medical Center, we saw an impressive Bald Eagle fly across the river toward BMC last Thursday morning. An amazing site it was.
