cm-footballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP ā€“ It was hot, very hot, at Malinak Stadium as three local teams met for their first and only scrimmage of the 2016 high school football season. All three teams had some bright spots and some areas their respective coaches will need to work on in the week ahead.

Central Mountain hosted Bald Eagle Area and Bucktail as all three squads prepared for the season ahead.

Due to scheduling changes introduced by PIAA, teams had a choice of either using their first playing date as their traditional second scrimmage or using that date as their first official game of the season. Most teams have opted to forego the second scrimmage.

On Aug. 26, Bucktail will open their 2016 campaign by hosting Troy at Dwyer Field while Bald Eagle Area will host St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Wingate with the Wildcats traveling to perennial rival Williamsport to face the Millionaires.
