key-base-logoPINE GROVE – The Keystone 9-10 All-Stars marched in step to their very own Hit Parade for a 22-6 Section 3 Championship win over Danville.

Earlier in the week, it took last minute heroics to come from behind to defeat Danville in the winner’s bracket final, this day it was all Keystone as they jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

In that first inning, Keystone amassed their dozen runs on only 5 hits including back-to-back homers by Matt Conklin and Levi Schlesinger. The balance of the effort included some help from Danville in the form of three walks, two hit batsmen and an error.

Bralen Corter pounded his first career home run in his last at bat of the day, drilling a shot to deep center field.

Other Keystone batters contributing multiple hits on the day were: Matt Conklin (HR, double and a single), Levi Schlesinger (HR, double). Luke Simcox and Chase Brush both hammered out two singles. Gardner Fravel slammed a double. Gabe Johnson, Ashton Probst, Brayden Blackwell and Kaden Irvin all has a base hit.

On the mound, Ashton Probst was called upon to start, pitching the first three innings, while Matt Conklin received the nod to close out the contest in the fourth inning. On the day, Keystone gave up 9 hits, three walks and two errors on defense.

Keystone will now prepare for the state championship tournament to be held in Clarks Summit July 28 – Aug. 3, 2015. The state tourney is a traditional double-elimination structure this year.

The first game for Keystone is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28 at 8 p.m. against the Section 5 champion, Plains.
