Walizer Enshrined in PA National Wrestling HoF

HARRISBURG – Biff Walizer was one of nine men inducted into the PA Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on Sunday at the Harrisburg Hilton.

Walizer, a 1958 Bald Eagle-Nittany graduate with a 40-5 record in high school was even better in college where he went 72-10-1 for Lock Haven, winning three PSAC and two NAIA titles.

Probably his most significant win was over then, future Olympian, Bobby Douglas of West Liberty and Oklahoma State.

His coaching career was outstanding. He coached 53 District 6 Champions, 20 North West Regional Champs and seven PIAA State Champions.

He was also honored by his peers as the District 6 Coach of the Year eight times.
