LHU’s Tony NiCassio named to CSC Academic All-District Football Team

LOCK HAVEN – Tony NiCassio of the Lock Haven football team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 11).

To be eligible, one must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher and have competed in 90 percent of the team’s total contests or started at least 66 percent. To learn more about the award and its qualification requirements, visit: AcademicAllAmerica.com.

The senior placekicker recorded an impressive 3.71 GPA as a member of the Computer Science department.

NiCassio finished 7-of-10 on field goals, including drilling 3-of-4 field goals from 30-yards or more. His season long of 40 ranked in the top 15 of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

Lock Haven closed the season on a two-game win streak to finish at 5-6 overall after going 3-4 in PSAC East action. The Haven has posted 10 wins in two seasons, the most victories in a two-year stretch since Lock Haven won 11 in 1981 (6) and 1982 (5).

The 2024 Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
