PIAA AAA State Wrestling – Day 2 (Live Updates)

HERSHEY – The state’s best wrestlers enter into the second day of AAA action this afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the Championship Quarter Final Round and the Second and Third Consolation Rounds.

Yesterday, Central Mountain’s Keannan Bottorf (120), Isaac Porter (182) and Loc Long (195) as well as Jersey Shore’s Hunter Zondory (113), were eliminated from competition suffering back-to-back losses in their first two matches.

Geo Barzona (106), the NW Region runner-up is the lone Wildcat still competing in the championship bracket. Barzona will face Chris Wright, Central Dauphin, the SC Region champ, in the quarter finals.

At 170, Gavin Caprio, the NW Region runner-up, will face Jack Zimmerman, Penn Manor, who finished fourth in the SC Region, in the Second Round Consolations.

For the Bulldogs, Hadyn Swartwood (152), the third place winner in the NW Region, will face Shane Jones, Stroudsburg who finished third at NE Region in the second round of consy action. Jake Huling (220) the NW Region runner-up will meet Zeb Pfeiffer, Penn Manor who finished third in the SC Region also in the second round of consolations.

The start of the Quarter Final Round has been delayed due to the AA division running long.
