Lady Bucks tennis rolls past Towanda 5-0

FARWELL, PA- Bucktail’s 2023 tennis team continued their hot start on Monday as they entertained NTL foes the Towanda Lady Black Knights.The Lady Bucks swept through the Towanda lineup for another 5-0 victory to improve their season mark to 5-0.
Bucktail’s number one Alexis Lowery remained unbeaten with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Towanda’s Lainey Alderfer. The number two match would see Bucktail’s Gigi Balchun battle back against Jocelyn Stroud. Stroud would take the first set 6-2, but Balchun would fire back with two straight wins, 6-2 and 6-3.
Mak Wagner completed the singles sweep for Bucktail by downing the Lady Black Knights’ Alyse Bass 6-2, 6-2.
Bucktail continued their dominance over Towanda in doubles with Eva Sockman and Kendall Wagner battling back against Katey Calaman and Nadia Alderfer. The Calaman/Alderfer team won the initial set 6-4, but Sockman and Wagner closed things out by winning 6-2, 6-2.
Kedda Bissman and Giada DeMarte continued their winning ways for Bucktail in doubles by defeating their Towanda counterparts 6-2 and by forfeit.
Bucktail (5-0) will next be in action on Wednesday when they host NP-Liberty at 4 p.m.
