Sugar Valley volleyball brings back experience

LOGANTON, PA – The Sugar Valley Charter volleyball team is geared up for the start of the new season, set to start Tuesday, Aug. 29 at Loyalsock, to be followed with a first home match on Thursday of next week with South Williamsport.

Coach J-T Bitner said the Phoenix returns all but four graduated seniors and has a roster of 16. “I’m expecting to have a season to get us back on track with districts.  There are a couple of new teams in the Heartland Conference. This should level the playing field for our team as we were very green last year.”

The coach cautioned, “We are dealing with an injury to our most experienced mid attacker but hope a quick recovery.  She is going to play a very important role in our team this year.”
