Clinton County Fair recognized by elected officials
LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – Thursday evening was the time for 50th anniversary recognition for the Clinton County Fair. The Clinton County Commissioners and Cindy Kunes, field representative for 15th District US Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson, presented fair board president Philip Courter with proclamations on the special anniversary.
As noted in the recognition from Rep. Thompson, recently read into the record on the floor of the US House, the fair grew “from humble beginnings into an agricultural extravaganza.” The congressman said the fair is “a testament to hard work, determination and strong values essential to rural communities and our nation.”

Clinton County Commissioner Angela Harding, flanked by board chairman/commissioner Miles Kessinger and fellow commissioner Jeff Snyder, read the county proclamation saluting the fair and its board.
The occasion was a Clinton County Economic Partnership social. CCEP President/CEO Mike Flanagan lauded those that started the fair on a strip of farmland along Pine Creek half a century ago. Among those pioneers, he said, were Stuart Ramm and the late Ken Yearick.
Flanagan also took a moment to recognize the late Grant Miller, a Nittany Valley businessman who passed away earlier this summer. Flanagan said Miller had done “much behind the scenes” to assist the fair in its growth.
