Pine Creek Township police arrest Avis man on drug charges
AVIS, PA – Pine Creek Township police earlier this month arrested an Avis man on drug delivery charges.
According to their posting, Michael A. Morgret of W. Martin Street, Avis was taken into custody on July 17 on an arrest warrant as a result of an alleged three separate drug deliveries. Morgret has been charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, three counts of criminal use of a communication facility and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Morgret is accused of selling one gram of bath salts to an informant on Feb. 14, 2022 for $80. On March 9, 2022 Morgret is accused of selling one gram of methamphetamine for $80 and on May 3, 2022 Morgret has been accused of selling two grams of bath salts for $100. Police allege that on all three drug deliveries Morgret used Facebook messenger, a electronic communication service to coordinate the drug sale.
Morgret was taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility for a preliminary arraignment and was arraigned by District Judge Keith Kibler. Bail was set at $60,000. Morgret was committed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility after being unable to post the bail and then was released on July 21 after he posted bail, police said.
