Clinton County D-A’s office involved in dog shooting incident In Woodward Township

DUNNSTOWN, PA – Woodward Township residents are still inquiring about the alleged dog shooting by a police officer stemming from June 23. They have learned that the office of Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse is now involved in looking at the incident and there will be a special meeting on the authority’s findings..

Tuesday evening’s township meeting saw a turnout of just over a dozen local residents; just enough to relocate attendees to the garage after a recreation committee meeting concluded.

It was less than 15 minutes into the meeting when one of the residents questioned Supervisor Kyle Coleman about the incident, asking, “How’s the investigation going?”

Supervisor Coleman provided a response, stating, “It’s currently in the hands of another agency. Once they’re done with it and they report back to us then we’re going to schedule a special meeting and get all of the information out there, but we all thought it’d be good for us to involve some other agencies and let them get their hands on it, so we’re kind of waiting for them.”

This comes after weeks of speculation amongst locals about the incident and Officer Gregory Drollinger’s alleged involvement in the shooting.

“We’re not stalling intentionally… It takes time when there’s other agencies involved like this” Coleman explained. “As soon as we know the date, I was hoping tonight to be able to announce that, but unfortunately, I don’t want to announce it and not have that information from those other agencies. As soon as we know, trust me, the date will be out there and we’ll take care of everything.”

Another resident inquired about these agencies. “Are you going to disclose what agencies are part of the investigation?” After getting permission to disclose information about what specific agencies are involved, Mr. Coleman responded, stating, “The Clinton County District Attorney’s Office.”

Coleman asked another supervisor for clarification as to whether a Pennsylvania State Dog Warden is involved in the matter before solidifying that at this time, the Clinton County District Attorney is the only other party involved in the investigation.
