Keystone 10s claim sectional opener over Blue Mountain, 13-0
ATHENS, PA – The Keystone 10-year-old all-star squad won its opener at the Section 12 tournament in Athens in a big way on Monday: a 13-0, four-inning win over Blue Mountain. The victory put Keystone into Tuesday’s winner bracket final against the winner of the other Monday game between Selinsgrove and Wellsboro.
Keystone scored seven runs in the second inning and six more in the third to romp to the win. Meanwhile two Keystone hurlers held BM to two hits. Adam Meyer worked 2.1 innings, giving up one hit while striking out four; Brooks Warner pitched 1.2 innings, giving up one hit and striking out one; their defense played errorless ball behind them.
Jaxon Orndorf paced a 9-hit attack with a double and a single and two RBIs. Meyer also had a double and a single and singles came from Rylin Bathurst and Warner (each with two RBIs), Dylan McDermott (with an RBI), Giovanni Cej, Ryker Packech (with an RBI) and Karter Markle (with two RBIs).
