Keystone 11s take opener, 8-1 over Jersey Shore/GSV
JERSEY SHORE, PA – The Keystone 11 all-star team rolled to an 8-1 win over Jersey Shore/GSV in its District 12 playoff opener on Monday.
Keystone knocked out four extra base hits among its seven on the evening and scored in all but the first inning to notch the win. Carter Miller led the attack with a single, a double and an RBI. Brayden Wolfgang ripped a triple and had an RBI; Cooper Strouse with a two RBI double; Chase Karstetter with a double and an RBI. Singles came from Ehan Nestor and Mack Packer.
Karstetter and Nestor split the mound duties for coach Tony Miller’s team. Karstetter went 4.2 innings, giving up three hits and one run while striking out seven and walking three. Nestor finished with 1.1 innings of work, giving up a hit, no runs, striking out one and walking one. Keystone played errorless ball.
Next up is a Saturday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at Keystone’s Long Run Field, the opponent the winner from a Monday game between Williamsport and Montoursville.
